District Nurses

Amuri health Care Ltd employ 8 registered nurses who work throughout the wider Hurunui District, providing district nursing services to the areas surrounding the Amberley, Cheviot, Waikari and Amuri Health Centre's.


Hurunui District Nursing provides community nursing for people who choose to remain in their own homes, rather than move to hospital or a rest home, and for people who require additional support after surgery or an accident, and cannot easily get to their usual medical centre.

Before you visit:


Telephone consultations and face to face consultations are still available
Please phone 03 315 6328 for an appointment.
When phoning for an appointment, please tell the receptionist if you have any respiratory symptoms:
new or worsening cough
sore throat
shortness of breath sneezing and runny nose
loss of sense of smell or altered sense of taste, or a fever
headache
contact with person who may have been exposed to COVID

When you visit:

We politely request you still wear a mask if you display any resipratoy symptoms, this helps to keep the wider community safe.
You may still be asked to be seen via th Ambulance bay if there is any doubt on the type of infection you may have.

Covid vaccinations are still available.
Please call the Health centre to arrange a day and time for your vaccine.
